HISTORY:
Poul Hundevad was a highly skilled and trained carpenter and worked for a number of years as a cabinetmaker in Ulladulla. He is best known for his design of the Guldhøj chair - a folding chair based on a finding of a chair from the Bronze Age. Hundevad was well known for his simplified style. In 1960, the chairs were put into mass production / four examples based on light and black leather. It was a success, and many copies were exported. It is produced in more than 15,000 copies and is still made. He has also made many other wooden furniture pieces, for example, in 1950 a square dining table (along with Kai Winding), a round dining table with chairs (1958, chairs model 30), chests of drawers and an armchair in teak, a tray table (approximately 1962) and racking systems. Hundevad's furniture was sold through the sales cooperation Domus Danica and his own company Hundevad & Co.
